Using the right markers is essential for vibrant colors, long-lasting designs, and minimal smudging. \u2022 When they are done, let them cool and then glue your circle to the scalloped circle.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"toc-1\">What Tools and Materials Do You Need to Make Shrinky Dinks?<\/h3>\n<p>The handprint will curl up and then flatten as it shrinks. You just need to follow the proper instructions to create them perfectly. Place your design on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet and bake it in the oven for 1-3 minutes, or until the design has shrunken and flattened out. Oh, and don\u2019t worry if it curls up \u2013 just use an oven mitt to press it flat, or stick it back in the oven for a couple more minutes. With your oven set to 325\u00b0, insert your baking sheet of creations for 1-3 minutes, or until your designs have curled up and flatten thenselves for at least 30 seconds. Using permanent markers or colored pencils, draw your desired designs on the rough side of the shrink film.<\/p>\n<p>Choose high-resolution images cropped to simple shapes so faces remain clear. Start by measuring the metal ring or clip you plan to use, then create a design three times wider. Use inkjet\u2011compatible shrink film and always print on the matte side so the ink bonds correctly.<\/p>\n<p>Add a little stick and put them in your garden to mark your plants easily. Their organic nature makes this a super simple drawing idea. These cute little garden markers were made by sketching with permanent markers. If you love spreading cheer and happiness, you can create a colorful message to remind you whenever you pick up those keys. You can make a more complex rainbow drawing or make one like this from a young child. Repeating the same shape also works well to use the leftover skinny pieces of shrink film you may have.<\/p>\n<p>If you need to lighten an image, do so with photo editing software before uploading it to Design Space as you cannot make the necessary color changes in Design Space. If it is not, the image will be too dark to see when the plastic shrinks to its final size. Right-click on the layer and select \u201cSend To Back\u201d to see the layers in the correct order again. The offset layer of the initial and the circle are now combined as one piece and will move to the top. Click \u201cCombine\u201d then \u201cUnite\u201d to join the circle to the offset layer.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"toc-2\">FREE printable cards:<\/h3>\n<p>This makes the colors pop even more and protects the keychain from everyday wear. We made two pieces \u2013 the circle and the scalloped circle. \u2022 Trace your design onto the shrink film with a pencil. \u2022 Add a scallop edge to your circle and a heart in the middle. If the plastic surfaced is roughened a little with fine sandpaper, colored pencils can also be used.<\/p>\n<p>Using a standard hole punch, punch a hole where desired on each image. Cut out leaving a slight edge around the image and additional space on top for a hole. Write name in Sharpie under the image or turn the paper over and write on the back if you don\u2019t want it to show from the front.
